Candidly, I haven’t really thought about the music industry for a while since I’ve spent most of my time listening to Coverville, KSCU & NPR, however, I’ve neglected mass music on such a scale that a rant has been boiling up inside for a long time. Ian Rogers had a great link today to Consumerist and a long letter about musical piracy. Second, Michael Arrington had a good post today about music sales being down. Both of these posts are excellent and both led to this rant. [...]

    My friend’s sister was making out with this guy from Rhino the other night at a really hot party in Hollywood, and he said they have lot’s of problems with DRM, but corporate won’t let them take down the store.

    He also says he doubt’s the validity of the post on consumerist, since a) emails worked at last check b) csr’s would NEVER tell someone to download from a library and are only allowed to stick with a very strict script.

    Still, tho, the point is that DRM sux, and I imagine that even as much as they REALLY REALLY want to sell non-DRM files, their hands are tied by other’s policies and are all deeply dismayed by the poor customer experience they are presenting.

    Great box sets, tho.
