There is such a huge, huge difference between what DJ Girl Talk does to make an art project and what Kanye West, Diddy, (or MC Hammer) et al do when they take the main hook out of one song and use it as the basis for another. Does the Industry now go after any jazz pianist who slips a few-bars-worth quotation from a standard into their solo? Where does it end?

Nice list!

Just saw Melvins/BB a few weeks back up here in SF. Big Business stole the show. Their set was godly perfection. Coady is an olympian who knocks out the two best drum sets back-to-back… I’m still not sure how he manages such consistent intensity.
