Yesterday I fired up iTunes 8 to turn on the new Metallica record. I was in the "Artists" tab (new interface) and there it said "Metallica" and showed a pic of the new record. I hit play. I was blown away. I thought, THIS RIPS! SOUNDS LIKE WHIPLASH OR SOMETHING! And then I realized it WAS Whiplash. The new interface made it look like I was playing the new record when I was just playing all Metallica. Then I skipped forward to Death Magnetic, the record, and it's pretty good, too. I need to give it a few more listens and it's going to have to be seriously great to get me to stop listening to the new Torche record over and over. As you know from our pre-Chloe dinner, REO was my first concert, 1978, Notre Dame ACC, <a href="http://www.rhapsody.com/reospeedwagon/ninelives" rel="nofollow">9 Lives</a> tour, <a href="http://dearbornflashback.com/rockets.asp" rel="nofollow">The Rockets</a> opening for them.
