Thanks, Gary.

Yesterday I fired up iTunes 8 to turn on the new Metallica record. I was in the "Artists" tab (new interface) and there it said "Metallica" and showed a pic of the new record. I hit play. I was blown away. I thought, THIS RIPS! SOUNDS LIKE WHIPLASH OR SOMETHING! And then I realized it WAS Whiplash. The new interface made it look like I was playing the new record when I was just playing all Metallica. Then I skipped forward to Death Magnetic, the record, and it's pretty good, too. I need to give it a few more listens and it's going to have to be seriously great to get me to stop listening to the new Torche record over and over.

As you know from our pre-Chloe dinner, REO was my first concert, 1978, Notre Dame ACC, 9 Lives tour, The Rockets opening for them.

You can skip the DJ record, man. That's the only good song on there, unfortunately.

ICR: Any man who can be excited about the new Metallica record, likes REO more than REM, mentions Built to Spill and DJ Rogers in the same post... is a friend o'mine. I am off to find a copy of DJ on vinyl. Another track indeed.
