The idea is pretty simple, fan comes by and downloads the music and hopefully feels compelled to donate in return for getting something they value. The money goes directly to Music For Relief's PayPal account in this case, and even PayPal has waived their fee. So 100% of the money goes directly to UNF and HFH.
It's just another outpost to encourage another segment of the population (the fans of these artists) to donate generously. It gives these bands a platform from which to spread the word and hopefully compels a few more people to contribute. No more, no less.
