Like Katherine said, get thee a foam roller if you don't already have one. Yoyo has majorly tight IT bands which has directly contributed to his ACL being replaced... twice. He spends some time torturing himself on the roller regularly and says it helps a lot.

I got the cast off my leg from the Achilles tendonitis yesterday. Looking forward to running again this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration and hope you feel better soon!

OUCH! glad you got past the injury and pain pretty quickly, but damn dude. would love to hear how the new methodology works! i've definitely been skeptical of putting in miles for miles' sake, but i still do it because it's more convenient for my lifestyle. if you're dramatically better off with more cross-training, i'd be inclined to follow your lead.

Great to hear that you're back on track! I'm guessing you're already doing this, but as someone who suffers a lot of IT issues, I've found the foam roller indispensable - using it on my back and hip in addition to IT seems to get my body more aligned and avoid/delay the IT pain. I've also found it helpful to use an IT band brace sometimes on the longer runs or if my body is feeling more fatigued...

I think the key innovation is to take the idea of a middle ground seriously, whether with an opt-in registry or any other approach.

It could be surprisingly effective to work from Bruce Warila's minimalist idea of a policy that "simply complying with DMCA takedown notices is overburdensome to rightsholders; that Copyright Respect actually means tendering solutions that proactively prevent copyright theft." (Though "theft" is language I disagree with).
