Zoe's Show, 2-10-2006, New Built To Spill and Pretty Girls Make Graves!

First of all, very special thanks to everyone who posted comments on Zoe's last show. All you Boing Boing and WSJ readers and beyond...much appreciated. Everyone seems to want a track listing. We'll try to find time to do that for this show and the last show soon. But the artists featured are listen in order in each of the posts, so you can follow along and probably figure out which song is which. Also, if you have Yahoo!
Zoe's two favorite bands, Built to Spill and Pretty Girls Make Graves, both have new albums coming out, and both get previewed on today's show!

This week's show is doubly long (nearly two hours) and features the likes of The Actual Tigers, Alison Krause, The Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, The Brakes, The Books, Built to Spill, Broken Social Scene, The Constantines, The Dandy Warhols, The Dresden Dolls, The Hold Steady, Joni Mitchell, The Joggers, Jens Lekman, Kelly Clarkson, Rogue Wave, The Like, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The New Pornographers, Okkervil River, and Sly and The Family Stone.

Back from Hiatus! - Zoe's Show 7-19-2005

Apologies to all for the long delay in getting a new show out. Life gets hectic.

New and extra long (nearly two hours!) show up now featuring David Bowie, Black Flag, Brendan Benson, Art Brut, Bright Eyes, Coldplay, Built to Spill, Death From Above 1979, Dungen, Elliot Smith, Libertines, Stephen Malkmus, Pavement, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Ben Kweller, Radiohead, Rufus Wainwright, The Magnetic Fields, The Shins, Sweet, Treepeople, Kelly Clarkson, Tegan and Sara, Ween, Doug Martsch, Ryan Adams, and Simon and Garfunkel.

Download this week's show by clicking here.

I didn't help with this one at all, Zoe and Sepi selected the tracks and engineered it all by themselves, which gives it special charm but also explains why the vocal breaks are so low you're going to have to adjust the volume to hear them. Sorry.

OMG

Wow, I just went to SAMOHI (Santa Monica High School) swim practice, cus my bff claire has a crush on one of the guys, it was awsome. She told him that he likes him, and then we hung out with him for an hour and then he said he hadn't decided yet if he liked her or not(they've been good friends for a long time so it was awkward). Meanwhile, he was using my phone to text message her and uggg. So, it was funny. I luv clair soo much, she cracks me up, so it was fun.

Any way...dad's out of town 'till tonight so we didn't get a chance to record a show. Sorry!!! Definately next week tho.

My Super-Cool Article

Okay Rob Lord...I'm posting to my own web-log.

Hey all...What's going on?

I just read the article in the NY Times that came out today. It was good but there were a couple pieces of mis-info:

1)Eliott Smith - Strung Out Again is not one of the only songs on my computer...it is one of the only Eliott Smith songs on my computer.

2) In "I See Colours" by Edan Biz Markie says "a-one-two" not "rainbow"

Other than that and the wierdly distorted photo it is a super cool article.

P.S.
Thanks todd

Much love,
